The Cabinet of Minor Gods

Project premise

A devotional archive of small gods responsible for embarrassingly specific failures, comforts, rituals, and accidents of contemporary life. Each god begins as a recognizable object or social residue, acquires agency through one decisive mutation, and is documented through a canonical portrait, habitat, relic, miracle, short motion manifestation, prayer, and sound.

Governing rules

Every deity governs a domain too minor for an established religion but too persistent to be accidental.
Every deity must remain materially legible: assembled, worn, painted, taped, wired, grown, printed, or repaired.
Every deity needs one mundane vessel, one offering, one taboo, and one observable miracle.
Humor and unease must coexist. Nothing is merely cute; nothing is merely horrific.
The gods are photographed or depicted as if discovered, not presented as fantasy character designs.
Motion must contain an event or transformation, not only a camera move.
Titles remain concise; explanatory text remains deadpan.
Different artist models may represent different devotional traditions within the same world.

Evidence Regarding Minor Gods

The completed Cabinet is entered into a second form: a municipal record in ten liturgies.

Each god is presented as:

canonical still — the exhibit;
local detail crop — the inspection;
existing canonical manifestation — the incident;
extracted freeze or before/after split — the residue.

No additional visual model generation was used. Every canonical manifestation appears exactly once, forward and at normal speed.

The score remains procedural and architectural. Each god's nonverbal audio relic enters during its manifestation. Voice is always evidence, never omniscient narration.

Definitive film presentation

The final conform uses the Cabinet's native 4:5 portrait ratio. Each exhibit carries a bottom-left archival lower third naming the god and its reinforcing domain, plus a persistent top-right ##/60 locator. Voice cues determine when the manifestation begins; the corresponding nonverbal relic starts on that exact frame. The square first pass remains an archive, not the definitive presentation.
